Nahiri and Jeziah

N- I want to say sorry to the people who have lost people from their families or their friends. J - I am angry cause I don't like the earthquakes.

Ian and Alex

The earthquake was scary I was in the hall at the time, it went from small to big to huge. Its kinda still scary being at school cause you never know when there'll be another after shock. But there are heaps of people of around here now that will keep us safe. Alex - Its good to be back in christchurch although it was pretty good in Invercargill cause there were no earthquakes but i couldn't sleep for the last few nights and I had to see a pyschologist.

Alice and Sam T

Thank you for donating money for our city and we've got back into school. I really like being near my friends. Thank you everyone for helping our school to survive through the earthquake.

Anfernee and Masey

Coming back to school the teachers have been very nice to us and looking after us. Its been a rough start to the year but its good to be back.

Melissa and Ariana

I know it has been hard but we are all in this together. It's going to get better soon. Thanks to all the teachers for making it safe here. The aftershocks are keeping me awake. Remember we are Triple A kids.

A Message from Mrs Buchanan

Thank you for your kind wishes and support from near and far. The emails, texts, facebook messages and chats from you all may seem like small gestures but the love and concern they are sent with really mean a lot to us. We have had our first full week back at school and yes it has been tiring but we have been together and enjoying each others company and healing together. We are lucky in Room 1 that we can still be in our classroom and it was our pleasure to loan our classroom to Room 9 and 10 who have to be in the hall and couldn't be in there yesterday while they had carpet laid. We have done some exciting and fun work this week using thinking keys and thinking smarts activities to do with fairy tales, learned how to read maps for orienteering and done some amazing paper mosaic/collage flowers. We have managed all this without running water to wash sticky hands or brushes and without needing any reading books or new art materials - which are all in our damaged room. A couple of times we have had to do turtles on the floor or get under our desks - it is a little bit scary but we know it has kept us safe before and will again. Today we will sing and celebrate all the things we have achieved at our team assembly and team singing. Stay in touch, keep caring and make sure the ones you love know you do. Kia kaha and love, Mrs B x
